Web Site Users
Like most web site operators, we may automatically collect information about your computer hardware and software of the sort that web browsers and servers typically make available. This information can include your IP address, browser type, domain names, access times and referring web site addresses, path through our web site, operating system information, and other similar information. We use this information to provide general statistics regarding use of our web sites.
Gathering of Personally-Identifying Information
Certain visitors to Vapor’s web sites choose to interact with Vapor in ways that require us to gather personally-identifying information. The amount and type of information that we gather depends on the nature of the interaction. For example, we collect personally identifiable information on our web sites when you use the chat screen on our web sites or fill out the contact page on our web sites. This information may include your name, e-mail address, interests in Vapor and any information you include in chats on our web sites or in the Message field of our contact pages. We also may collect non-personally identifiable information, such as general geographic information, about you.
Other web sites that are accessible from links that may be posted to our web sites may gather additional personally-identifying information from you. We encourage you to review the privacy statements of websites you choose to visit from such links so that you can understand how those web sites collect, use and share your information. We are not responsible for the privacy statements or other content on web sites outside of the Vapor web sites.
Use of Information about You
We collect and use information about you, including personally-identifiable information, and your use of our web sites to operate the web sites and affiliated web sites. If you have supplied your email address, Vapor may occasionally send you an email to tell you about new features, solicit your feedback, or just keep you up to date with what’s going on with Vapor, our products and our affiliates. We primarily use our various blogs to communicate this type of information, so we expect to keep this type of email to a minimum. If you send us a request or post a question to our chat board, we reserve the right to publish it in order to help us clarify or respond to your request or to help us support others. We may also contact you via surveys to conduct research about your opinion of current services or of potential new services that may be offered. Note that at any time you may opt out of being contacted by Vapor for any research or product updates, through clear links at the bottom of every email.
We disclose potentially personally-identifying and personally-identifying information only to our employees, contractors and affiliated organizations that (i) need to know that information in order to process it on our behalf or to provide services available at Vapor’s web site, and (ii) that have agreed not to disclose it to others. We will not rent or sell potentially personally-identifying and personally-identifying information to third parties. We may, from time to time, contact you on behalf of external business partners about a particular offering that may be of interest to you. In those cases, personally identifiable information about you (e-mail, name, address, telephone number) is not transferred to the third party. In addition, we may share data, including personally identifiable information, with trusted partners to help us perform statistical analysis, send you email or postal mail or provide customer support. We generally require these third parties to maintain the confidentiality of your information and to not use your personally identifiable information except to provide services to Vapor.
Vapor keeps track of the websites and pages our customers visit within and from the Vapor websites in order to determine what Vapor products and services are the most popular. This data is used to deliver customized content and advertising from Vapor to customers whose behavior indicates that they are interested in a particular subject area.
Vapor does not collect personally identifiable information from you to track you over time and across third party websites. As a result, Vapor does not specifically respond to web browser Do Not Track signals.
Other than to its employees, contractors and affiliated organizations and as described above, Vapor will disclose personally identifiable information about you without notice to you only if required to do so by law or in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to: (a) conform to the edicts of the law or comply with legal process served on Vapor or the site; (b) protect and defend the rights or property of Vapor; and, (c) act under exigent circumstances to protect the personal safety of users of Vapor, or the public. Vapor takes all measures reasonably necessary to protect against the unauthorized access, use, alteration or destruction of potentially personally-identifying and personally-identifying information. Vapor will not use or disclose sensitive personally identifiable information about you, such as race, religion, or political affiliations, without your explicit consent.
If Vapor, or substantially all of its assets, were acquired, or in the unlikely event that Vapor goes out of business or enters bankruptcy, user information would be one of the assets that is transferred or acquired by a third party. You acknowledge that such transfers may occur, and that any acquirer of Vapor may continue to use your personal information as set forth in this policy.
